Background

Queen Thai, also known as Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, was born on June 3, 1978, in Hat Yai, Songkla, Thailand. She is the fourth wife of King Vajiralongkorn, also known as Rama X, and has been the Queen of Thailand since May 1, 2019.

Early Life and Education

Queen Thai comes from an ethnically Hokkien Thai Chinese family. She graduated from Hatyaiwittayalai Somboonkulkanya Middle School and Assumption University with a bachelor’s degree in communication arts in 2000. Before becoming Queen, she worked as a flight attendant for Japan Airlines and Thai Airways International.

Military Service

In August 2014, Queen Thai was appointed as the commander of Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn’s household guard in the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. She has been recognized for her military achievements and has received several honors and awards.

Queen Consort

On May 1, 2019, Queen Thai was officially crowned as the Queen of Thailand during King Vajiralongkorn’s coronation. The marriage registration took place in Bangkok with esteemed witnesses.
