World mourns for Troy Davis
09-22-11

Well, that was a lost cause.

Contrary to my plan, I didn't get to write my research paper this morning even if my first class for the day doesn't start until 1pm. Instead of writing, I joined one of the millions of people supporting Troy Davis. I may be situated too far from Washington to be capable of joining the rally outside the White House, but that didn't stop me from joining the cause. Instead, I used my social networking accounts to spread the cause.

So what was the cause? And who is Troy Davis? Well, Troy Davis is an African American man who was convicted of a crime he did not commit. Authorities insist that he is the suspect of a policeman's murder in 1989, despite not having enough evidences to support the claim. No matter how many people point out the injustice, the US Supreme court just continued to turn a blind eye on the subject. It got to a point that now, twenty two years after, Troy Davis was scheduled to be executed.

People all over the world were protesting and calling out to President Obama, so he can stop the execution of an innocent man.

In the end, even Obama didn't do anything about it. The authorities let an innocent man die through lethal injection.

I feel so betrayed. My support for Troy Davis now seem like a lost cause. I can't believe how unfair this is. All I wanted was to stand up for a human's right to a fair trial...in the end, we all still perished.
